Tulsi Tea, an Herbal Wonder, Heals Body And Soul

Tulsi tea is not only delicious, but it has remarkable healing effects on the body and soul. Ayurvedic research shows that Tulsi has anti-stress and adaptogenic qualities. Recently, there was a CNN report that the number one cause of heart attacks is air pollution. Tulsi cleans the heart and lung tissue. Tulsi tea has a pulmonary and bronchial rejuvenating effect. The best way to use herbs are in their whole form and Tulsi is no exception. Tulsi tea can be taken in powder form after the dry herb has been ground to powder. The Tulsi plant can be made into a pulp. The fresh herb is mashed forming a pulp. A tulsi herbal tablet, formed by powder being formed into a pill, taken with of ghee or warm water.

Or there is also Tulsi wine. Herbal wine is made by using sugar and yeast to create self generating alcohol. There are two kinds of wine. In one form, the herbs are not boiled. They are added to the fermenting mixture. In the other form, the herbs are first boiled to form a decoction. A decoction is made by boiling the herb until the mixture is very concentrated. A decoction is called a Kwatha. The action of the decoction is in accord with the concentration. Ghee or oil can be used for administration.

The principle in Ayurveda teaches that the action of decoction is measured by the concentration of the decoction.
Tulsi Dipan Decotion: Causes excretion and elimination. Mix one part tulsi with sixteen parts water and then boil it down to one-tenth the quantity.
Tulsi Shodhana Decotion: Cleanses fat tissue. Mix one part tulsi with sixteen parts water and then boil it down to one twelfth quantity.
Tulsi Shaman: Soothes, relieves and pacifies the body. Take one part tulsi with sixteen parts water and then boil it down to one-eighth the quantity.
